Culture Days Of Pakistan

Pakistan is one of the blessed countries of the world. People of Pakistan are living independently according their standard and values. Punjab is the oldest and richest culture province of Pakistan in the whole universe. Its diversity and uniqueness is showing in the Punjabi poetry, philosophy, spirituality, education, artistry, music, cuisine, science, technology, military warfare, architecture, traditions, values and history. The purpose of Punjabi Culture Days of Pakistan is the land of Punjab is filled with hospitality, love and affection. There are some culture days which are celebrated in Punjab.

Basaikhi

Baisakhi is also called Vaisakhi and Besakhi. It can be celebrated when the rabi crop is ready for harvesting. It is also known as harvesting festival. The harvesting is begun with folk music and dancing such as bhangra. This is performed with various rural meals. Bhangra is primarily associated with the Bisakhi festival. It is a simple type of dance. This festivel is to inaugurate the reaping operations of wheat crops in the central Punjab. It is one of the colourful Punjabi culture days Of Pakistan are held at the time of Besakhi when farmers are free to enjoy their leisure time.


Basant

The biggest, or perhaps the best known, festival is that of Jashn-e-Baharaan held in February each year. It is Punjabi culture days of Pakistan are celebrating the onset of the spring season. It is also called the Basant Festival of kites. This festival is celebrated with kite flying competitions all over the city especially in Undron-e- shaher area. Every year the sky is filled with colorful kites of all shapes and sizes flown from rooftops. The kites are flown on strings called Dorr which is a special thread with cut glass embedded within which serves to cut the thread of competitor kites more consciously. Some of the kite are flying competitions get extremely competitive and at high level. Women, on this day are seen by dress up bright yellow and much different dark color. This festival gained more and more importance over the years and used to attract people from all over the world.


National Horse and Cattle Shows:

The show is very unique and held at Fortress Stadium in the third week of November for 5 days. This  event  is consist of  cattle races, cattle dances, tent pegging, tattoo show, folk musicdancesbands, cultural floats and folk games like activities.

This event has been shown as an eloquent expression of Pakistan’s heritage and an authentic account of its agricultural and industrial sector achievement’s. The fortress stadium, the venue of the show is representing the interest of active participants, foreign visitors and peoples who watch the festival with great enthusiasm, verve and aplomb. There is a big rush of those people are interested in watching and appreciating the best breeds of livestock. Many people pleasure by watching other activities such as display parade of animals, dances by horses and camels, polo matches, dog shows and their races, acts of stuntmen, mass display of military band, rhythmically physical exercise by the children, decorated industrial floats and torch light tattoo shows. Additional attractions include a subtle interplay of lights to weave enticing patterns at night and breathe taking acts by foreign groups. The show began as a modest exhibition organized by the army to project the cattle wealth of the country in the early fifties. Pakistan is an agricultural country its importance depends on agriculture and livestock. Cattle show encourages the farmers to graze their animals more.


Literary Festivals:

 There are various literary festivals are held in the Punjab. It is also represent the Punjabi culture day of Pakistan.  One kind of festival is the Lyallpur Suleikh Mela. It can be celebrated in Faisalabad which hosts by the medium of Punjabi language. People from different places walks of life thronged to the festival where Jhoomer dance and Heer singing capture and fascinated attention of them. Entry of people is the event is free. This event is celebrated two days. The first day of the festival had the welcome a Jhoomer was performed by the team of the Jamia Muhammad Sharif College. The second of the Sulaikh Mela has sessions and talks on various topics related to Punjab and Punjabi. A theatre play, Dulla Bhatti, would be performed by the students of the various college.


Mela Chiragha:

Mela Chiraghan  is also known as  Mela Shalamar. This festival is celebrated three-day annual festival to mark the urs of the Punjabi Sufi poet and saint Shah Hussain. It takes place at the shrine of Shah Hussain in Baghbanpura, on the outskirts of Lahore, Pakistan. It is adjacent to the Shalimar Gardens. The festival used to take place in the Shalimar Garden. The festival used to be the biggest festival in the Punjab. It is also famouse as the festival of lights
